Hello, my name is Walter Kimball, and I am currently completing my undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering. I live split between Maine and New York and have many hours of experience in this field, ranging from internships, projects, and research.

This will serve as a collection of projects that I have both worked on and am currently working on, in engineering, as well as my own personal ventures.

Admitted into NYU Tandon’s accelerated 4+1 Mechanical Engineering program, concentrating on Mechatronics and Robotics to explore advanced dynamic controls, system integration, and automated systems.

NYU Motorsports Head Baja Design Director

Stepping into the sole Design Director role for the Baja SAE team following a year as co-director. Leading cross-functional engineering subteams through the complete design, analysis, and build of the new BV-1 vehicle.

Fall 2025

NYU Motorsports Baja Drivetrain Lead

Appointed Drivetrain Lead, directing the development, structural modeling, and optimization of the custom 4WD powertrain, transmission, gearbox, and engine integration for NYU's next-gen Baja platform.

Spring 2026

NYU Automotive Engineering TA

Stepping into a Teaching Assistant role under Prof. Havercamp for NYU’s Automotive Engineering course after completing the class in Spring 2025. Guiding students through fundamental vehicle design calculations—focusing on transmission gearing, suspension spring stiffness, component packaging, and meeting target performance requirements.
